Advice on pedals for my incoming 2013 Carbon 1 F29

So...it's been a long time since I've purchased a bike. With that said, I'm really excited about my order, however, I have no idea which pedals to put on it. Any thoughts from the group?

Also, (and this will date me as to how long its been since I purchased a bike) what type of shoes would I need with whichever pedal is recommended?

    Hey man,

First of all, congratulations on your purchase. Amazing bike! It's down to personal preference. Do you use clip-less pedals? If you don't you probably should. I personally use Egg Beater 3s for about £70. If you don't like Egg Beaters, the XT SPDs are a good shout. They're not the lightest, but they last forever. I prefer the Egg Beaters personally, but as I said before, it's personal preference.

Shoes, sorry mate but if you've brought a Cannondale Flash there's only ONE shoe you should buy.

and yes, they have to be in yellow.
and no, I am not missing the other half of my fork....

I'm a fan of flats and Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 GTX

They're Mavic Fury's. RRP £225. You can get them for cheaper. I paid £160 for mine.

They're worn by teams like CFR and Orange Monkey. They've kind of spread through the Cannondale community I guess

Not exactly ideal for a serious XC bike??

I have XT spd's and specialised shoe's, but those Mavis's look cool,
    Just perhaps not in yellow!

I've had Specialized Experts (carbon), and I preferred the Mavics. To the point where I gave the Specialized shoes away. Specialised in-soles are better though.

I have Mavic Ravens and XT SPD's and could not be happier. The Ravens (Grey/Yellow Trim) are a step down, but for $125.00 they are still an excellent shoe IMO

Again, personal preference, but I've been riding TIME ATAC pedals since the late 1990s. I love them and have never had a problem with any of the three sets I use.

    Crank Bros Egg Beaters.

When it's time to rebuild them ($15 kit) in a year or so, swap in Ti spindles.
