"95" M500 crank removal

I have a 1995 Cannondale M500 that seems to be creaking down near the crank. I was going to look into taking it apart but my buddy who has the exact same "horse" said a bike shop told him you cannot service the cranks on this model. Something about them being "glued" in to the bottom bracket. Is this nonsense? (I've never done any work in this area so l cant tell by just looking at it)

Find a different shop, cause these guys are full of it!
Glued bottom bracket....pft.
Get yourself a crank puller and a shimano bb tool, both really in expensive (try ebay).
Post a picture if you can so we can tell you exactly what you need.
(The cranks and bb might have been replaced over time).

LOL!!!!

It wasnt my normal shop but one this buddy used to repair his M500 about 10 years ago. The whole thing didnt make sense to me anyway but you never know with the cheaper bikes like this one was then. My shop has been closed so I didnt get to ask him hence my post just wondering...incase he says it too. Once I determine thats where the issue is for sure then I'll look into working on it.
