    Re-painting the links on a 08 Jedi ?

    Hello everyone!

as u come to know i own a 08 F1 Jedi, and the blue paint on the rear linkage is starting to peel away,

i want to take out the links and repaint them, maybe white to fit the bike theme,

is there anything special i should know before taking out the links? anything complicated on the bolts? or its just a regular screw out the bolts and thats it?

anything that might fall apart there?

and would a regular paint remover remove the paint from the links?

    thanks

    Eli.

i was hoping maybe one of them could share the info upon the internetz

im pretty sure its a simple bolt on from both sides, but i dont want to get surprised by some hidden spacers or such

Been on the road. The links are easy to remove, nothing wierd. When you get the links off, the bearings need to come out. The strongest coating is powder coat other than anodizing. Be careful with the upper link so you don't bent it when pressing the bearings in and out. The paint stripper isn't good for the bearings either. Overall it's a easy job to paint them, have fun.

    Thanks for the reply
i have a bearing puller that will make my job easy at that, so i guess they wont get damaged while repainting, while at it maybe i will check\replace them if they need that.

im thinking thinking what color to paint the links, nothing special comes to mind, i guess ill stick to my white color scheme

    ill post pics when done!

    thanks!

    okay, made some progress today
removed the links, the bearings and the color, now just waiting for the links to come back from paint

removing the links was pretty easy, took me about 5 mins to remove the links and pull out the bearings, 20 more mins to remove the paint

all the bearings are in great shape, just like new
