    My used One

    I bought this Canfield One used sight unseen so there were problems from the start. The lower headset cup went in really really easy, one ride and no knocking so I guess its ok.

    It looks like the previous owner forced a 150mm hub into the rear or they come with very loose tolerance from the factory.

    From the factory the frame lacks some refinement/attention to details.

    One problem is that a medium frame will not clear a single crown fork. Most manufacturers have problems similar to this with their small frames but mediums?

    A Chris King 5mm crown race solved the problem but what a pita to remove the old race and hunt down the taller crown race.

    The front derailleur cable rubs the frame in 2 spots,
    <img src="" /img>
    on the upper shock mount

    and the lower swing link.

    There is no room to move the front derailleur up enough for a triple or even a 36t bashguard. This a 34t bash and it barely clears.

    The good, I have not got my shock and fork setting down yet but just did a short local ride and I like it. There is no pedal bob in the 22t chainring and only a very slight bob in the 36t. The rear wants to extend with heavy handed braking, maybe a little shock/fork tuning can get rid of some of that.

    Can't wait to build up my used One!!!

    I also got mine used. Overall it's in really good shape. Can't wait for the parts to come so I can build it up. Cam, did you get your Dingle yet?

    - Which front deraileur are you using? I think I ordered a top swing M770.

    - Good to hear the medium frame clears with some adaptation. I am gonna go the route of Cane Creek S3+5 and maybe the Ventana race (4mm or 7mm). I'm gonna use my current Nixon Platinum 160mm. The extra spacing should slacken it out nicely and for climbing the IT on the Nixon allows for travel to be set way low.

    - The one thing that impresses me the most is Chris. How cool is it when you call the CB phone number and the owner answers the phone And then he'll give you volumes of info and tips about the bike.

    Let's see some more pics of the bike!

    How are you liking that rear shock choice? If you have any Chris....he will take of you whether you bought the bike from him or not. Not too many bikes out there will ride like this bad boy.
