    Dear Canfield,

Seriously now, there's been a lot of rumor and innuendo about your company and it's state of being. You've built up a loyal following with your awesome bikes and I think I speak for the masses when I say, how about a little information about the future. I'm not asking about when's the next super carbon whatever coming out? I'm taking about what's the future hold for "Canfield Brothers Downhill Bikes" ? You guys have been very quiet for a long time. If your closing shop that's fine (You've earned it) I'll still rock my Riot & Balance until they can't go no more. Just don't leave us hanging in the dark.

I also agree. It would be nice to hear so I know if I should stop holding out for a updated Riot or Balance.

I've called and emailed without any luck other than a cold response via email saying "we are always working on something". Not sure why loyal riders are being blown off. It's certainly off putting.

I have to agree. Seems like a really odd stance for them to be taking. If nothing else it’s just poor marketing.

I can understand a small organization not wanting to keep the same pace as larger manufacturers but why not just let folks know that? Look at markets where it’s easier to keep pace like hardtail frames where geometry changes can be implemented more rapidly etc...

I was quite up in arms/ disgruntled about not hearing anything yet when I know one of the Bros has posted on this forum since this thread went up......... But then I went and rode my Riot today and honestly had so much fun. I am just happy to have one until I find something new or the Bros come out with something new. Either way I am going to change my outlook and just ride the hell out of and enjoy what I have and if they have something new when I decide to upgrade I will buy it, if not, oh well there loss on a sale.

I am 14 months into owning a DVO equiped Canfield Brothers Riot. All of my Friends own carbon bikes, Pivots or YT. I am never jealous, I love my Riot.

It does seem like development and new products has slowed down. I might have been interested in a newer boost version of the EPO but that still hasn't happened. I don't hold it against them. It's hard to justify new moulds and tooling just to meet new axle standards but that's where a small company has a harder time keeping up with the market. Maybe I'll be proven wrong and there's one around the corner, but I kind of doubt it

Some closure or a brief but detailed update would be nice. I can say confidently that at least 5 maybe 6 bikes sales in the past few months within my small riding circle would have gone to Canfield, but ending up going to other companies because of the lack of communication, waiting for existing frame stock to replinish, or taking too long for new stuff to drop.

Well I have some interesting info:

I called Canfield today and spoke with Sean. I was looking for some sticker packs and I thought I'd take a shot and ask about how things are going. From what I gathered they are still in business but had some setbacks. Their kinda re-structuring the company and are going to have some new partners so to speak. I asked about if there's going to be a new Carbon 29er in the future and Sean says, yes and Chris has been test riding for the past few months. So with that said, I guess its still wait and see but it's something.

I hope things are going well...I've ridden a lot of bikes and the Riot has been the best do everything rig I've ever ridden. More importantly, it's the most FUN bike ever as well.

I recently tried the Ibis Ripmo and Evil Wreckoning and while they were great bikes they just didn't have the fun factor that the Riot delivers.

I have a Knolly FUGITIVE lined up for demo with big expectations.

Knolly took their time dialing in the Fugitive rather than rushing something to market. I wouldn't be surprised if Canfield is dialing in a killer rig as well.

    Cheers!!

The suspense is killing me. Were you able to get some sticker packs?

I know it will never happen, but I was out on my Rocky Mountain fat bike last weekend thinking of how cool it would be if there was a Nimble9 fat bike. I know they would only sell a dozen of them, but I can dream right? I have the latest N9, but it can't cut it in the deep snow of Maine and VT.

A Kona Wozo is what you seek. Almost the exact geo as the Epo which I have and love.

I'll have to check it out. I think a buddy of mine has one. The Rocky actually isn't bad at all, but it could be better.

I'm happy to see signs of life. I love my EPO; I'm battered and should be on a cushy FS bike, but it's just too much fun to ride. I love every ride on that thing!

Well, so far part of what Sean said is true with new partners. It's refreshing to read about how good the CBF suspension is.

The rascal looks like a nice compliment to my EPO. $5K is a bit much but at least it comes with better wheels than most. I'm not a super rider I ride for fun and fitness but this is a bike I can say I might not want to change anything on it. Like they were reading my mind. So 5K might be worth it in the long run even just for fun and fitness on central PA trails.
