Canfield Balance chainring too close to chainstay?
    Hey,

So the bikeshop is helping me build up my medium 2016 balance with SiXC cranks and 30 tooth non-oval chainrings. They said it looks like the chainring is super close to the chainstay.

Something related to getting really short chainstays?

    Here's a photo:

I went through this, too. You want a 3mm offset (like for boost, even though it's not boost) instead of 6mm. Zero would work as well.

Does that mean I need 3 more mm of spacers? Will that not cause problems with the spindle being able to attach on the other side?

It sounds like going from a 30 to 32 tooth chainring should fix it since 30 tooth has the spacers

    Hi,

How did you sort this out ? I was wondering the same thing with my 2016 Balance.
I installed a set of Saint Cranks with a 32 Raceface Narrow wide ring and it sits pretty close to the chain stay. I have been riding all season without a guide and not to many drops.
