Salespunk 5 Peaks Ride Saturday 12/29

    If anyone is interested I am planning on doing a 5 peaks ride on the 29th. It will be;

    • La Costa
    • Double Peak
    • Franks
    • Elfin
    • Bernardo

This is a *BIG* ride, but there are multiple points for people to join and make shorter rides that are less intense. It can be done as a point to point or people could join a different points on Double Peak, Elfin or even just for Bernardo. This will be an all day affair for me since I plan on riding a full loop and not point to point.

As always there are a few rules for these rides

    1. Show up with your bike ready to go
    2. I am old school so self supported, ie bring your own spares and tools
    3. No d*cks, we are out to have fun

I would recommend at least a 140 travel bike. Most of the descents are rough and fast with a few sections of steeps thrown in for good measure. If anyone is interested let me know and I will work out logistics.

I'm there 100%. I've done a similar ride before with a few extra loops on La Costa thrown in, ended up at 37.5 miles and 7.2K ft of ascending. Should be a great time!

The last Salespunk ride was 16miles and 2600ft. We didnt do bernardo peak. That climb sucks. Lol

Seems like I can't plan my life more than 2 days out but I at least know I'm not traveling that day. I'm hopefully in...!?! I've done all that on one ride with the exception of Bernardo. Surprisingly I've never made it over there.

Probably something like that. The worst climb is Once is Enough from Del Dios back into Elfin. If you do it as a point to point will probably be around 3500'.

I'd like to do this, but I'll be in Prescott that weekend. Any chance you'd be able to share the Strava route for this? I'd be interested in seeing how to connect the riding areas. Is it all dirt or is there some pavement tossed in for the connections?

I will share the route after the ride. It is about 90% dirt with a few short pavement connectors.

For those of you wondering, I will post time and location of the start once we get closer to the date. Looking forward to riding with everyone!

Sigh...I guess I was out of the loop when my family made plans. They are celebrating the holiday Saturday instead of tomorrow. So...maybe this fall

Awesome sounding ride! I am out of town, but would love to have joined for some/all of this.

DP is running great as of today, and I bet will even be better with a bit more drying. Have fun and looking forward to the report!

Sorry for the delay everyone, had some personal things going on with my father. Here is the location for the start of the ride at 7 AM

    https://goo.gl/maps/8osh14rqNWH2

I am modifying it slightly due to a time limitation on my part. We will ride from the start point up to Franks then through Elfin down to Hodges. From there we will go up Bernardo then back track our way to Double Peak. For those that still have the legs we will then climb up a back way to the top of Double Peak for the wildest descents of the day. This eliminates La Costa and 99% of the pavement riding. It also reduces the climbing by about 1500'. Plenty of water available along the way so I only ride with a single bottle. These are most of my favorite descents wrapped into one big ride! Looking forward to seeing everyone in the morning!

We cut out La Costa due to time constraints and ended up at 28 miles and 4500 feet of climbing. We had a good group of guys show up and I hope I can get some more rides in with them.
