    China Flats Ground Squirrels: SUICIDAL!!!

For the second time in 3 rides, I ran over a Ground Squirrel while burning through the China Flats ST in Chesebro.

Can somebody please have a talk with those damn things and tell them to stop running out under my tires?!

My girlfriend ran over a chipmunk once. She still gets upset when I bring it up.

I agree. Somebody call a squirrel conference. Last Thursday, they were every where, one ran into the wheel of my friend's bike- they are absolutely suicidal. but what are their choices? Snakes?

Two years ago it was the horned toads that were suicidal, last year it was the normal lizards, and this year it's the bunnies. They are everywhere this year, and they have given me several close calls recently. I must have buzzed 20 of them in one ride this past week. Lots of rattlers earlier this spring.

    Kamikaze bunnies everywhere

Watch speed around blind corners if heading down from china to cheese, really over grown.

Usually check my speed around the tight spots. Glad I have been lately, almost had a close call w/ father/son. They were on their way up, little dude was in front too

I do believe I bisected a snake in the canyon today. Seems a bit early.

Nope, a little further than that. It's about 35 miles past Magic Mountain off of Interstate 5.

    PM sent.

Haven't seen a rattler yet this year (darn!) but the Whipsnakes and Gopher snakes have been out trail surfing regularly on my rides for the past 3 or 4 weeks now.

And the wildflowers! Let me tell ya....for those of you that haven't been out there yet, go now, it's spectacular!!!

Amazed jeffj isn't talking about all the sage, bees and beehives on his rides. Got stung again yesterday in Tapia, mid day, one snuck in a vent of my helmet and stuck me good.
