Win a custom Soulcraft Frame !!

Team Bigfoot has a lot going on this year in legendary Humboldt County. Matt and Sean at Soulcraft Bicycles are big supporters of our ol' fashion grass roots, small time races. Soulcraft kicks off summer in style as the title sponsor of the 12 Hours of Weaverville. Soulcraft also returns as the title sponsor of the season finale, the Lagrange Fall Classic, also in Weaverville. And at that final race some lucky winner will win a custom Soulcraft frame of his/her choice. Here's how it works. At each of Team Bigfoot's 2004 events, each rider gets one raffle ticket. Winners get an additional 5, second place gets and additional 3 and third place gets and additional 2. The winning ticket gets drawn after the Lagrange cross-country, October 14. The lucky winner can have Matt & Sean build them whatever they want: Hardtail, 29er, singlespeed, road or cyclorosser, and in any color they wish.

June 19: 12 Hours of Weaverville, Weaverville, CA: From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. teams of 4 riders, 2 riders and solos race on a 14 mile dirt course of an equal mix of fire road and narrow flume trail on the famed Weaverville Basin Trail System, in Weaverville, CA, about 45 miles west of Redding. TINKER JUAREZ IS COMING!! Main venue is Trinity High School with real bathrooms, showers and in-town convenience. This event is a benefit for the Weaverville Basin Trail System and for Friday Night Live, an alcohol and drug treatment organization for teens. NOTE: The flyers we just got from the printers that we'll have at Sea Otter have a slight mistake..Yes, there is a Singlespeed Class. Just write it in.

July 16, 17 & 18: Bigfoot Classic, Bald Mountain, Arcata, CA: This classic event has been around since the early days of mountain biking. This year it's a benefit for the Humboldt County Search & Rescue Team. The courses are epic and challenging. We end the day with a Huffy Toss and Wheelie Contest. And don't miss the finale on Sunday...the free mass start downhill from the top of Bald Mountain into the pits--it's wild! Hillclimb Friday, cross country Saturday, short track and cross country Sunday morning and downhill Sunday. It's all on beautiful timberland. Take Hwy 299 east from Arcata 13 miles, turn right at the 8-foot tall Bigfoot (really) and take the dirt road 4 miles to the race site.

August 28: 12 Hours of Humboldt, Arcata, CA: From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. teams of 4 riders, 2 riders and solos race on an 8 mile course under the giant redwoods of the Arcata Community Forest. The course boasts 1600' of climbing per lap and was called by Tinker Juarez "one of the best courses I've ridden in a long time." Main venue is Redwood Park, right next to Humboldt State University, just 2 minutes from Hwy 101. In-town convenience; teams can literally have lunch delivered right to their pits."Hey guys, we want pizza or Chinese??" This year's event is a benefit for the Arcata Forest Fund's effort to purchase a 181-acre parcel addition to the Arcata Community Forest.

September 17, 18 & 19: Tis Tang Tangle, Willow Creek, CA: After a hiatus of five years, the famous Tish Tang Tangle cross country and downhill are back! It's all just outside the town of Willow Creek on Hwy 299 about 40 miles inland from Arcata. It's a network of trails on US Forest Service and Hoopa Tribal land along Tish Tang Creek. The lonnnnng 28 mile XC course that everyone remembers will be back in all its splendor. It's still in excellent shape thanks to all the foks who have kept riding and maintaining it all these years. The 7 minute-plus downhill will be back too, possibly with a few new twists, turns and opportunities for air time. Camping is available right at the race venue.

October 15, 16 & 17: Lagrange Fall Classic, Weaverville, CA: Hillclimb Friday, cross country Saturday, downhill Sunday. This classic was gone for a few years, but las year Team Bigfoot brought it back to rave reviews! The cross country uses the famed Lagrange Ditch trail singletrack alongside flumes built during the gold mining days of the 1850's. The downhill course is steep, exciting and long--last year's winning expert times were over 9 minutes! This event is a benefit for the Weaverville Basin Trail System and for Friday Night Live, an alcohol and drug treatment organization for teens.

More details and entry forms with map to the race will be posted on Team Bigfoot's web in the coming weeks.
