Will you guys be my friend(s)?

I'm going to get a bike again.

As soon as this leg heals up. I hurt myself.

And Cruizy is as well. We just bought a house with "decent" trail access in granite bay and move up that way in Late July.

Looking forward to putting the band back together.

Can you still not upload photos here? Bunk.

Hi, Mr. Man (if that's your real name),

I'm sorry to hear you hurt your leg. Perhaps when you were suddenly de-noosed from your auto-erotic asphyxiation session, that may have strained it? Remember, you're no spring chicken anymore.

What kind of bike are you going to get? I'll bet there are a lot of used Jerichos on the market from which to choose. Good luck.

    Yours,

    Finch

P.S. Do you have a sister named Aimee Man who sang with 'Til Tuesday? Edit: Oops, that's Aimee Mann. Never mind. She does look a bit like you, tho.

    What's wrong with him??

Gary, getting a bike with 2 wheels, that I can keep up with johnny on the downhills on and with Suzy on uphills on.

Not so much of a "strain" although as a result of the wreck there are several "strains" elsewhere on the body...

And yes, that used to be my femur.

That said, it'll heal (I have as sweet titanium rod in there) but the muscle is more the issue since the big bone pushed all the way through the muscle and exited the skin.

    Yes, it was nasty.

Welcome back. First thing we need to do is get you a proper bike. with the right mm and schit. It's a different world now. But mountain bikes are good now.

I hurt my leg skiing. Yes, it was bad.

I actually half pedal turned today at physical therapy (I can't turn over the pedals because of lack of range of motion.)

    I'm exactly one month post-op.

I'm targeting 9/1 for my return to cycling, and plan to be back on snow for the opener.

Dude I remember you from way back when I was a lot younger. I always liked that you were an ornery SOB. I had some different handles that I can't recall that got banned for arguing too much with the 'funpigs' who came over from Mud****s.com. I was also a funpig when that's all there was.

Thanks FC. Trauma Ortho Doctor (who coincidentally is a US Ski Team doc.) said probably hit the tree doing between 60-70mph. I honestly shouldn't have been skiing like that not on a closed race course (with fencing), nor should I think I'm good enough to free ski at those speeds on race-tuned carvers on super hard pack. Funny thing is, if it was soft conditions or an open bowl, I would have been totally fine.

I have been studying all about the new stuff. I'm sure I'll figure something out, with a little help from some old friends, of course. It's going to be weird having to *pay* for bikes. LOL. I think the last one suzy paid for was like her 2003 titus racer-x! (hey! What's up with answering me here and not on FB? sheesh.)

That is a CT scan. Because I was boarded and coming out of a heli with major trauma, they did a full body ct first, then an mri.

Wifey is awesome. Kids are great. I have 3 now. Still same job "working for the phone company" and life is pretty freaking rad otherwise.

I should be able to turn pedals on a stationary bike or assault bike in a month or so, and PT said I should be able to ride easy trails in september or so.

They really don't want me falling, but I figure that now that I'm bionic, it's all good. Of course, as of right now, my entire quad muscle is basically atrophied and "dead"/unusable.

This is the lower shot. The cool thing is that they just pushed all the bone fragments up against the 5/8" titanium rod and it's all just supposed to kind of fuse back together. It goes all the way up to my hip and is screwed in up there as well.

Honestly I'm just really happy they were able to save the leg. After my crash, it was pointed the entirely wrong direction and I had to physically pick it up (it was just hanging there, loose) and put it back in line with my body. The bone had pushed all the way through my long underwear and ski pants as well.

    That wasn't very fun.

Will you guys be my friend(s)?-img_0240.jpg

What's up, 2009 calling! Yeah, good to see you all into the bike thing Ron. I'm right at the gb trailhead in hidden lakes so sometime when you're just past dyke 8, 70 or 80 miles into a ride where you had no water or food, you can give me about a 10 mile head start, and we'll have to go out for a spin around the house.

    Like, in November.

Inside 2 weeks for my bike to arrive.

October 20th looking to do one of the "classics" and get the band back together. Thinking maybe babyhead-bigboulder-pauley-third-first or armstrong pass to toads?

    Who's in?

yeah, yeah. Well I broke the frame in the top tube from dropping it up from 5+ feet trying something stupid!

Not the fault of the bike company at all. More my fault for being a dummy and doing something i shouldn't have been doing just getting back onto the bike.

I should have a bike in a month or so. They are being super cool and rushing me through a new front triangle.

And Gary...you might be surprised how "fat" I am now.
