Weed, Shasta, Beer, Ashland and Paradise Royale - with Cheeze

Did a little trip up to Shasta, Ashland, and Paradise Royale.
Good friends, good weather, good times.
Paradise Royale is too far away and not long enough for a short stay.
Nice place but not sure if it's worth the effort till more trail is built.
Talked to a IMBA sub contractor who is building more trails for the area and he said it will be much better and longer next year.
Won't be goin back till more trail is added.
They have a good thing goin just needs to be longer.
Rumour has it mabey a trail down to Shelter Cove is in the works , if so *****ON. ,
The place is fun, fast and a has good skills/jumps/ pump track area too.
Watch out for those Scorpions though.
One of the best things is riding right out of your campsite onto the trail.
Why can't we build something like this near civilization?
Anyhoo ... Enjoy, go out, ride, report, Live.

Self shuttled Shasta, and self shuttled and used Ashland Mountain Adventures in Ashland.
Shasta is easy to figure out.everything you need is there.
You need to be toatally self contained for Paradize.
9 big, nice, campsites right next to the trailhead.
No reservations. 1st come, first served.
There are pit toilets that are nice and clean.
Beautiful breeze up the bum after dowloading the soft drive.
    No showers.
Alot of time, care and resources are being put into the place so you don't have to pull up to some crap place.
    Skillz runs are AWESOME!
Sept, Oct, Nov, should be off the shidizzle weather wise.
Get it before wet settles in.
Shelter Cove is a 1/2 hr drive down the hill.
    Everything you need is there.
Also a Huge (400 site ) campground in Shelter Cove case your scared of sleepin by yorself.
    Have fun and PIN IT!

Just need to Comment that the BEST PHOTO is the one with the Can of Caldera Beer. One of my all time favorite brewers..... make sure to check out the new Caldera Tap House in Ashland!

On a riding note i would rather climb the killer 14 miles up Mt Ashland than be shuttled even once. Riding uphill makes it a real adventure and makes the beer taste a heckuva lot better..

Uh the Tap house is not new (been open for like 3-4 years now) and I have pedaled up to the top of Mt. Assland many, many times.
    But...
When your short on time The best bang for your buck, and a good way to invest in the local economy, is to take a shuttle now and then.
We did almost 60 DH miles in one day becaused we shuttled.
I think I saw you on my 3rd run down as you were still climbing up.
Because everyone knows that after driving 4-6 hours theres nothin like climbing up a mountain for another 2 1/2 - 3 hrs.
Seriously though I think the next time I go to Whistler or N* I'll screw the lifts and just pedal up, only gonna git one run but hey I can tell everyone, who had loads of runs, FU, I pedalded it dood.
On my 40 pound rig no less.
You know what they will say...so wat. you should of shuttled.
    Waste of energy and time.
    Not always, but somtimes.
    I'm just sayin.
Now quit bein a bee-atch-y and go ride.
    Hammerhead.

Thanks for the prop's Gordon! Your groupo was a kick in the ass and kicked ass! Not many that come here cover that many miles or drop that many runs in a day! As a matter a fact, only 2 of my good friends John John and Timmy were able to drop 4 with me in a day, 2 of them Time Warp! Long day, 6.5hr, 21,000' descent and 3,500' ele gain over 62 miles. Big day!
Can't wait to get to ride with ya again!
    Happy Trails!
