    Upcoming BTCEB Rides

    Hello again everyone,

I won't spam the forum every week with the BTCEB rides, but when something new comes up I'll post a little something.

    Check it out:

We have a full week of riding again beginning with a regular Monday beginner/intermediate (or "advanced beginner") ride, followed by a new intermediate regular Wednesday ride, both at Lake Chabot. Also check out the regular Thursday ride at Pleasanton Ridge, and this Saturday we have Youth Bike Adventures!

Danny Forer and Joe Towbis will once again be leading an epic ride this month on Sunday, August 22nd! This should be fun. Check out the Four Bumps Epic Ride in Marin!

Check out the full months calendar at http://www.btceb.org/grouprides.htm

Here are this weeks rides details:

We leave by 6.30 p.m. to ride. Join us as we stretch our legs after a long weekend of racing and riding with a nice easy spin around Lake Chabot most every Monday evening. Advanced riders will get a good recovery ride and stretch while beginner riders will get in a good work-out ride. It's a no drop ride with plenty of stops so no matter your skill level, we'd love to have you join us! The ride may vary from week to week and based upon the desire of those who show. Please RSVP if you plan to show up, else ride may change w/o notice. Email: Erin Ambrose [email protected] or call (510) 888-9757.

    SAT AUG 14th
    Youth Bike Adventures
Wildcat Canyon. We always welcome and encourage riders (BTCEB members or not) to come and ride with us to learn about the program and see how much fun we have. You do have to be a current dues paying member of BTCEB to be a "guide" for one of our youth riders. Please come ride with us and have some fun showing these kids a good time. RSVP at [email protected] (Kai & Maureen).

    SUN AUG 22nd
    Ride Rating: T3/S9/O9 (Very Advanced)
    FOUR BUMPS RIDE
This ride will attempt to summit the 4 highest peaks in Marin: Mt. Tam (2,500'), Big Rock Ridge (1,900'), Pine Mtn. (1,800') and Loma Alta (1,600). Distance, and total elevation for the day is not known, but this is going to be a very difficult, hard ride. The ride may take between 10-12 hours. Leaders pace will be moderate, with lots of stops. Faster/slower riders please bring maps and be prepared to do your own thing. This ride is for fit, independent, experienced mountain bikers, who have nothing better to do than ride all day. Mostly fireroads, with about 10 miles of singletrack (Tamarancho and Big Rock Ridge Trail). Few technical challenges, just long grinds. The likely route is: Loma Alta, Big Rock, Pine Mtn, and then Tam. (No shade on Loma Alta/Big Rock, so doing those in the morning.) Lots of opportunities for bailouts, and route changes based on weather, motivation, pain, and bonking. All riders must have a Tamarancho Pass. (Purchase a day pass, online, for $5, and print it out on your own printer, at www.boyscouts-marin.org). Bring a large lunch, and at least 6 powerfood items. Ride starts at Deer Park School at 8am. Ride Leaders: Danny Forer [[email protected] /510-528-8099] and Joe Ibis [[email protected]].

    I will be there today

Looking forward to riding with a group, although it is a trek out to Castro Valley for me. I'm not worried about the climbs, downhill is where I need to improve, which is unlikely to happen riding by myself.
