TNJMPR: Red Flag Edition -- 10/10/19

Meet at Sequioa Bayview at 6 p.m. Ride at 6:15.

There's a Red Flag Warning which is supposed to expire at 5 p.m. today, so we should be OK. If not, we'll reroute through Redwood Regional on a more fire-roady route.

Bring your lights. It's gonna be dark early as long as the whole place isn't on fire.

The usual caveats apply: Your car will be broken into. You will be groped by a handsy OPD Police Explorer. The park is closed. Mountain lions are hungry. Park is open, but too full of bikers already. Cinderella is currently one continuous brake bump. Park is currently on fire. You will be knocked unconscious by a windblown branch and groped by a handsy mountain lion.

I'm in. Is there a minimum RSVP we need for quorum?

And what kind of knife would you recommend for protection against handsy mountain lions?

I've never read the group ride posts before. I have to admit, this is pretty crafty! I should pilfer it for my group ride events. ha

Quorum? Will we be voting on new by-laws? I haven't even finished engraving the old ones into the granite tablets.

I think tire choice is the real question with handsy (pawsy?) mountain lions. Knife choice is for shaving down the Cindy brake bumps.

    I'm in.

Figuring at least one person will be running tubes, and that's who the mountain lion will get.

    Provided the park isn't closed.

Anybody have something that says it's open?

I was just walking my dog in Redwood. It is open and they are getting set to re-energize the lines that were shut off up there. I don't think anyone will stop us from riding JMP.

    Is this thing happening tonight?

If I'm right about this being the source of the racket my bike was making, the new spidered cassette should make for a nice quiet ride.

Traffic wrecked my commute this morning, so I won't be back in time to ride
