If only the clouds would break up. I went for an evening run on a trail that should have offered a good view of the rising moon. It was 5:15, maybe it wasn't up yet but it's cloudy.
Hopefully in the next 1.5 hours the clouds will clear. I just need to get myself out to see.
last time I photoed the moon it was a bit sketchy with the tripod sitting at the edge of the street with passing cars. Not much traffic on the side street, but fact remains it's dark. haha I'd just light up the phone when a vehicle was on the street.

I got a glimpse of it coming up it was huge! Then it ducked behind the clouds no where to be seen.

It rained here slightly after 6. I went to peek at the sky before 7:30 and the sky was overcast and a slight mist falling on my face.

    Stupid moon!

Got some brief glimpses of the eclipse shadow and red color in breaks in the clouds. Then it started raining right around 8:30 when it was supposed to be the most colorful. Darn you nature!

We got a pretty good view of it in Santa Cruz. The clouds were coming and going. I don't have a decent camera, so we just looked at it with our eyes.

Shocked that the clouds cleared up here in Santa Rosa and it was very visible. Cool look.

So it was raining all day and into the evening in Lafayette so I forgot about the eclipse and blood moon. I went out to take out the garbage (literally) and the clouds had momentarily blown off and there it was...at the tail ed of the eclipse with the far left corner returning to normal...I ran inside and grabbed my gear and took this....not perfect, but not terrible either.

With an iPhone you cannot really capture the moon. In any of its phases. Maybe that's changed with the newest ones. I had a great view from SF as the eclipse gave way to light again. Some clouds but really nice clear air.
