    Skyline Classic Race is back!

The Skyline Classic XC race is back at Skyline Park in Napa on October 12th. Great course this year with one to three lap options based on your level.

Proceeds benefit the Napa Bike Coalition and Napa Composite (high school) Cycling Team.

This looks awesome. Nice to have another race that's not 2+ hours away from the Bay.

Finch, if you go to the link and click on "Course", they've posted the videos of that race back in '97. Amazing some of the names you see in there, Paola Pezzo, Alison Sydor, Tinker Juarez, Cadel Evans!

Good question. Sounds like a lot of work.

    Maybe this winter sometime?

If you've never been to Skyline, it is really a gem of a park. This is definitely a technical XC race. Nothing smooth or buffed about it (except the fireroad climb on the first lap to spread everyone out).

I was there too! I bought an IBIS Handjob bottle opener (brass - not the pewter knockoff that followed) and then I lost it. Paola wearing gold.

I'm signed up for the 2 lap. Gonna do my best to winch my trail bike up that Buckeye climb. Come heckle me when I have to push it up the slick rock above the lake

I am in for the full 3 laps if suffering. I have not ridden there since the fire, but have really enjoyed the trails in the past. Hoping there are good numbers and we can keep this race going!

Oh man. I'd much rather see racers coming down that.

    Carnage galore.

    Caw!

The outpouring of local volunteer support since the fires has been incredible. I'd argue that most trails are in the best shape I've ever seen them.

    Caw!
The posted course does appear to include the "Biker's Bypass" section of Manzanita.
    So there's that.

Broken hand and jacked up knee from an unavoidable car door collision on this morning's bike commute, so I have an entry if anyone is interested (not sure how transfer works). Emailed them earlier about refund or transfer but hopefully will find out tomorrow. I was reaallly looking forward to laying the singlespeed hurt down on Saturday.

I raced there back in 1997 during the World Cup they had there. The course was probably one of the best and funnest courses I've ever raced on.
