SDSF Flow trail kickoff - workday December 6th and other flow trail news

Just wanted to let you all know we are kicking off our season of work at SDSF this year with a maintenance day on the existing trails and the recently built flow trail segments this Saturday, December 6th. After these few storms this weekend and the upcoming week the trails will likely still be a bit wet - perfect timing for a workday. We really want to get some quality work in on Braille, Sawpit, and Ridge so we can concentrate on on the Flow Trail the rest of the season. A big turn out will help, come on out. The Stewards of Soquel Forest are sponsoring this workday and will be providing snacks, lunch, and helping lead crews.

    Register here

Meet at 8:45 at the SDSF main parking lot on Highland Way for registration and refreshments. We plan to be back at the lot by 3:30. Unsafe weather conditions will cancel. Please sign up so we can keep you informed as the weather forecast for the weekend becomes more refined.

    ALSO
We've posted the tentative schedule for Demo workdays for the rest of the winter months and other news about the upcoming dig season on the Flow Trail, more info here:

Flow trail winter build season kicks off with December 6 volunteer work day sponsored by Stewards of Soquel Forest | Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBoSC)

    FINALLY
We want to know what you think of the Flow Trail at SDSF. Please take our quick survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FlowTrailSurvey

5 inches and more coming in.

It has been a stormy morning here in the SC mountains. 5 inches of rain in the mountains last two days + no time to dry the rest of the week = wet trails this weekend. Come out and dig!

We expect we will start new construction pretty soon. Once we do we will be out working most weekdays and would welcome help. If you spend the whole day you can drive in out with us from the quarry, otherwise you'll need to ride in and out. Contact me at [email protected] and I will put you on our weekday work list.

Full recap is in the works, stay tuned. Big turnout. It rained until we got on the trail, then it was nice. Lots of good work done, super glad we got this maintenance day in before the monster storm on Thursday! Braille should be tree free for at least a few days...
