Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the ride and food last night. Last night was my first RM ride. Had a great time sucking in dust and almost dying going down hill in almost complete dark. I am still not sure how I survived.
I don't normally ride that late but I am glad I showed up. Super fun ride, good attitude and amazing food and banter afterwards.
Thanks again. See you next year. Oh when do they start up again?
You like that? That goes from spring all the way to the start of cross season. I missed so many of those rides and gourmet food.
Amazing riding and pace! I was always rider #10 in a paceline of 15. Just like last time .
But this time, I had two epic fails. I forced a tubeless conversion with a loose tire fitting into a carbon rim and it burped and let all the air out at Steam Donkey. And then, I punched the ground when I was supposed to be wearing/testing D30, 661 gloves that protect your knuckles. Anyway, I almost broke my hand with a boxer's fracture (metacarpal). It's swollen but it's ok now with beer and vitamin I.
Anyway, we should continue the Wednesday Skeggs rides as daylight allows. Then party!!
Mtbr members in the photos are heythorp, shanemtb, iluvcx, mattleonardphi, gobike69, michigan_matt, corina, sashax and a host of other lycra wearing vermin. Oh, and Datenschwanz of course.
Good times. I wish I could've ridden with you guys, but I got Alex out on his first ride a skeggs. He crushed the fire road almost to Tafoni and back (with lots of pushing uphill by dad). I was bummed we couldn't hang out a bit longer, but thats the way it goes with a 3 year old.
what an awesome end to weds nite rides for the season....god damn those ribs were finger lickin' good, the avocado cupcakes(Brooke) were off the hook, and the coleslaw(Sasha)was delish! Francis- good to see you, we'd missed you out there.
I was also stoked my hamstring wasn't givin' me any back talk...whew...I guess there will be a 'cross season after all. Good times! Thanks to Paule for all the organization, week after week. You rock man!

It gets better Dad. Are you having another kid? Then maybe not for a while.
Here's to all the dads that were out there. The upside is you can get a minivan someday and feel legit.
excellent end* to a great Skeggs season. This year's rides have been fuuun. The bright side is that I can ride Skeggs on the weekends again without getting burned out.
*I could have done without crashing, but sacrificing a little skin to the mountain bike gods is part of the cult, right?
It was fun meeting a bunch of you and watching all you MTB ladies smoke by me on the climb out!!! Worst part wasnt the climb, it was trying to talk to you and look cool while I my heartrate was 175! ;o)
Francois - glad I finally go to meet you too, thanks for the beer, I will buy you one after the Road ride on 9/11.

Excellent way to finish off Mouse Wednesdays. Good to see all the happy shining faces. Saw some animal rocking a 34x17 on his carbon single. Totally hardcore.

Yeah, but he burped and then got angry at the earth and punched it. Didn't even finish the ride
All the guys ahead of me were on 29er or singlespeed. Trendy fools
Or 29er singlespeeds...
Shane, I will admit to being a 29er believer. Even at my size (I'm 5'5"), I am definitely digging the big wheel thing. Are there disadvantages? Sure. But in most stuff I think it's a pretty awesome choice.
Incidentally, I was actually struck by how many 26" bikes there were last night.
