    Revopower motorized front Wheel

I ran accross this gadget and was somewhat intrigued by it. I can see the benefits and drawbacks to it but was curious on what my fellow mountain bikers would think. It's just a motorized front wheel that can be installed on a standard bicycle fork without any modification. I don't see it revolutionizing the bicycle but it could make things like commuting and hellish uphill climbing easier for those looking just to "get there" with out a major workout. IMHO anything that gets people on a bike instead of a car is a good thing.
MSRP for the wheel would be about $400 but may be higher if the US CPSC requires the bike that it's on to be reclassified as a motorized vehicle.

Not a bad idea, except it uses a 2-stroke gasoline engine.

I suppose that if you were going to buy a gas scooter or motorcycle, this would be a good alternative, but it still pollutes. It's also noisy.... at least compared with a normal bike.
