    Red lights flashing...

Got pulled over the other day on the return trip from PCP. I might or might not have been exceeding the speed limit, I'm not entirely sure.

CHP: The reason I pulled you over is because you have a tail light out
Me: (whew, taillight is a fixit ticket) Umm... I didn't realize it was out
CHP Takes license and registration then returns after a minute
CHP: I'm not going to cite you this time, if you get pulled over again you can tell the officer you've been warned.
    Me: (double whew) Thanks Officer
CHP: So I noticed your bikes on the roof, you mind me asking where you were riding Today?

A conversation about the local Pinecrest/ Strawberry area trails follow and I mention my web site

Heh... So as we cruise home I'm wondering: Maybe he was going to nail me for something more but figured if he did he wouldn't get the scoop on the local trails? Hard to say. In any case I got an email Today:

    Subject: Thanks for the site

Hi, You probably remember me best as the Deputy who pulled you over in the Mi Wuk area a few days ago. I just wanted to say thanks for telling me about your site. It looks like you have put a lot of work into it. Keep it up!

Now I have a few rides I need to check out!

    Time to retire,
and then we turned that liquor store
    into a structure fire.

Couldn't help thinking about the Sublime riff.

Doubt the cop was into the same music. At least he was into biking. Good job!

They actually have CHP in Mi Wok?

We used to have a cabin in Twain Harte, and all the times I've driven in the area I dont think I ever saw a single CHP

Of course now that we had to sell the cabin I find out about all these trails up there.

Actually had sublime in my head when I titled the post. Thought it was appropriate.

Something kind of funny about pointing a cop towards trails that the Law Enforcement officer for the forest service is trying to shut down.
