I believe the last report was 73xx acres.

There are some structures 'threatened' but this wild fire is more of a wild fire. Not to downplay it at all but in the circumstance of a fire, this is a better situation than a lot with minimal property destruction, etc. Not out of the question, but for now it's not a huge scare.

I have a friend with a sister in that area, they live in Red Bluff and are not threatened -fire is going opposite direction (as of last night that was true).

    Thanks for posting.

I also have friends in Red Bluff. They are unconcerned about this fire. Weird.

    Update, 8:15 p.m. Friday:

The Red Bank Fire now covers 7,340 acres and is 7% contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Mandatory evacuations, evacuation warnings and road closures remain in place.

While 25 structures are threatened, none have been damaged or destroyed, said Cal Fire spokesman Tanner Brady. The fire continues to spread west.

If winds pick up over the weekend, Brady said fire containment efforts could be "hampered."

    Damn!

After being listed as 2,000 acres Friday morning, the Walker Fire in the Plumas National Forest has grown to 17,912 acres, the U.S. Forest Service reported Friday night.

    There is no containment.

News segment on the radio reported that the morning numbers were nearly 7800 and 9%.
Seems pretty calm, and weather overnight was cool, and today (Saturday) started out cool too. Hopefully that can aid their fighting efforts.
