Hmmm...off the top I'd say you're driving a bit. Either 1/2 hour +/- south to the Bolinas Ridge / Pt Reyes network. That's the closet and most weather friendly when it's cooking inland. Santa Rosa has Annadel which is about an hour away. I've got the OK on some very nice "unknown" riding to the north that I'd be willing to be the tour guide if you want to hook up. Do you enjoy long climbs to get to the fun stuff?

I appreciate the offer, but my relatively inexperienced girlfriend will be with me. She does not enjoy long climbs.

the only trail I can get her to go on reliably is granite-bay (near folsom). I took her on Salmon Falls once, and she got kinda mad at me.

BAsically looking for beginner/intermediate with good scenery.

Take the scenic mellow drive down Tomales Bay on Hwy 1 through Pt Reyes and head up to Bolinas Ridge (left at Olema). The ride (once you get though all the initial gates) should prove to be a nice cool and shaded out and back that you can't get lost on. Have fun with it.
