Other than bickering, what else you guys doing this week?

Any post sunset rides to speak of? PM or email any of the fine details, especially if the ride is west of the Sierras.

What's happening with the long weekend. Weather seems like it might hold.

Is it time to go ride Planet Ord? Or a long Coe ride along Coe ride?

Well my new years resolution is to get back on the bike. I've been so busy/lazy/sick the past few months I've only been on the bike twice since the beginning of October. I'm gonna start riding home to/from work, and I'm looking at doing some nite rides as well to get back into shape.

That and I'm also gettin back into playing hockey, which will also get me into shape

Sunday I was thinking maybe Demo. Its been a while.

Most likely in the afternoon. 2ish give or take 30 minutes or so.

We did that with vintage bikes once. 3 full runs of Jones from top to bottom, each time on a different bike, same route. It makes for interesting comparisons.

I'm down for several loops. I'll be on the Van Dessel. Should be a good testing ground.

Purrrrrfect time. Let's see if ultralord will come out and scare some babies and toddlers with his bikes.
Will make it easier for me to swap.

How many folks have Monday off?

I'm wondering if 29er Demo day in Planet Ord would work. I know it is short notice, but if the weather dude is going to cooperate...
Kinda tough to do longer term planning in January.
I'm thinking FC demo bikes+MTBR member bikes(calling for help from the community).

My other Thought was at Skeggs, or maybe that small little thing called Waterdog. Then we can crash Passion Trail bikes afterwards...

I know Ord is a haul, just as Annadel is a haul for me.

I would be up for Skeggs, need to reconquer the nice double track, rock strewn part of Manzanita. Or waterdog since I have not ridden there. Annadel is a haul!

Keep me posted, I love me some big wheels! More cushion for the pushing.

To answer your original question - I rode last week week in Phoenix and Vegas.

    I built a new FR/DH rig.

Got a new pet - a little parakeet named Sunny.

Anything to stay out of the scathefests!

Don't laugh - I did that once. It really is the greatest thing. 10 years later, a person has more world experience, is more e$tablished, and it effing works! Oh yeah, it's "chasing women, and running slowly when women are chasing me".

    Plans...

Well, I rarely make plans, but as I have 3 days off...in a row, I may make a consession.

I'd love a full blown ride on Saturday, time, place TBD.

Sunday, I have plans to watch the Bears v. Seahawks at my buddy's house, which is right down the road from Nisene Marks...thinking of riding up to Demo, ride Braile Trail, then proceeding downhill all the way back to watch the game, starting at 10ish am.

    Monday, I'm open to suggestions.

If there's any talk of 29er comparison, I have a geared, Rebaed, Soulcraft Holy Roller to add to the pot...24" top tube.

But really, if there's a ride at Waterdog, it's 2 miles from my house, I think I can drag myself up there for several loops of sweet singletrack!!!

Come out of the closet? Man, that Wilder thread had a little bit of everything in it.
Maybe we should have a kiss-and-make-up ride. Someone's going to have to invite a ton of women though. Or we could just rename it a ride-and-make-up ride, at Demo of course.

I can't on Monday. I'm getting the car serviced at Santa Cruz Subaru, which is just down the street from SC-HECKLE-HER's house. I'm bring a bike (not sure which, hopefully a real RIP9er!), and WILDER the car is in the shop I will be riding the bike. U'll C me out there pedaling around, and it will be good.

Demo on Sunday sounds good. I haven't been there in a long time.

Anywhere on Saturday would be cool. Never been to Tamarancho, but if the loop is only 8 miles I wouldn't really consider it worth it. Ord would fun too.

    rensho,
The haul to Annadel is worth it. Last weekend I hated getting up early, and driving for 2 hours. But once on the trail it was all worth it. The drive home sucks though.

    damn, it's only Tuesday

We should do a ride on Saturday at Demo!

The Tamarancho ride is not looking good for me on Saturday. Come on man start a thread for Demo on Saturday! You know you miss Demo...

I'll round up some women from the Brass Rail to be waiting for us at the bottom of Braille.

I'm thinking FC demo bikes+MTBR member bikes(calling for help from the community).

What holiday? Damn--looks like I'll miss a good ride.

Dan can't lead an Ord ride since he'll be at home putting in base boards...

    bay area triple play....

i'm hoping to do some sort of ride saturday, but don't want to drive a long way so may just hang out at the headlands or china camp....somewhere less muddy than adel, the jersey i wore last saturday looks like it has a permanent case of the measles!!! sunday i'm keeping my fingers crossed for it to be worthwhile to head up to sugarbowl to play in the slush (or ice?) for the day with my son, and monday is open, likely a hike with my wife and maybe some golf in the afternoon with my son....you really gotta love california!!!!

Not much to "speak of" -- but I'll be out at the Pleasanton Ridge tonight. 1.5 - 2 hrs, 13 -15 miles.

Wheels rolling by 6pm. Not necessarily ss friendly -- but it can be done. I'll be on gears.

    Cheers~

Tamarancho is cool, but you have to get a pass in advance for $5. Keep in mind they are going to do 2 loops, and if they do one in each direction. You will be over 20 miles by the time you get back to your car. Plus it ends at Iron Springs Brewery. mmmm.

Post sunset rides this week are out for me. I'm blaming the weather and saying it is gonna to be too cold. i'll put up some baseboards instead.

I'm still trying to jigger the 29er demo this weekend. Maybe sunday works better for peeps, and at a more central midpenn location.

Thanks Cannonhead, for putting up your 29er. We'll need more, so folks, please PM me if you can contribute (Plim, quit crying and give me your bike). We'll hold the riders mostly responsible.

    I know of:

    3 On-One(18 and 21") (SS and 1x9)
    1 XL One9 SS Reba
    1 XL Sir9 SS Rigid
    1 Sm Sir9 1x9 Reba
    1 Sm Sir9 SS Rigid
    1 Sm One9 SS Rigid
    1 Med Mary SS Rigid
1 Dead Surly Karate Monkey 19" apparently was too rigid
    1 Soulcraft custom ~18" (sissy 3x9) Reba

I know there is a RaleighXXIX out there. Forget the guy's name.

    Slower bikes:
    1 Med-L Ti Titus Rx29
    1 Med RIP9
    1 Med Ellsworth Epiphany
    1 Med-L Van Dessel
    1 Med Intense spider29
    1 Med Ventana El Rey
    1 Med Lenz Sport Leviathan

    I'm sure i'm missing a few bikes.

For motivated 29er owners, I can have a tire demo as well.
    I'll loan out:
    Nevegals
    Rampage
    Karma 2.2s
    WTB Nanos
Maybe a pair of Weirwolf LTs
Maybe can get a pair of Ignitors.

If this happens on Sunday, I'll start a new thread with little bickering.

I spoke to Passion Trail bikes and we can all stream in there after the ride. The kegerator is full and the esspresso maker is primed and ready.

I need a designated driver since I get edgy after 6 shots of espresso.

    Ft. Ord Saturday

Been fighting a cold all week but I think I'll be ready for Ft. Ord on Saturday. That may be one of the "warmer" areas this weekend, which is supposed to be a bit cool.
