    OT: youtube car ads

    I don't know... but they're hella funny.

Any others? Seems to be the new model and it works along with those Ken Block Subaru videos.

I dunno, I know one of the main engineers at Kia and I hate those hamster commercials about as much as he does.

The Sienna commercial's great! We love that one!

As for Kia, maybe the world needs more commercials like Top Gear tried for the Scirocco.

Did you see the faces of the ad men? When they kept trying to explain the core values?

Did you know Clarkson gets paid $6 million a year and the budget for each Top Gear episode is $10 million?

So why don't they have a bicycle version of top gear? I'd do it for considerably less than $6 million. I think that should be MTBR's next venture.

Ain't gonna happen because it would mean that all us Dad's would need to pool up our Disney Movie points, empty beer cans, and spare bike parts to trade them all in for an actual usable cash value while still barely affording enough free time to escape for a ride.

Ahhh, if used children's diapers and tears were worth gold we'd be set for a budget.

Apparently Subaru partnered with the ASPCA and made a whole series of YouTube videos about cars and dogs:

They're pretty funny and the dogs are adorable!

Guilty as charged. My Toyota held up better than my GM. You don't fight conomics in term of investments. It took a bailout for them to even start getting their stuff good and worth buying, even then, if I had to choose between the new Blazer or a Sequoia, I'll get the Sequoia. Now how about that invisible monkey?

I'll get a vid later of our wagon. It's not much to look at, but it does cook.

I actually really dig most of fords line right now, and there are a bunch of GM vehicles I like too. I'm half seriously thinking about trading in one of my "imports" (actually built in SC) on a late model "domestic" (designed in Austrailia, unsure where built). They've still got a lot of really horrendous history to overcome though, and while it may be older than dirt, that video is gold.

We just went out for ice cream at Cowabunga, Redwood City. We had the chance to ride in the Swaggah wagon by Toyota.

It was such a swell ride, some moms wanted to jump in with us.

A barcalounger lay-z-boy in the minivan? That's sweet.

I gotta say. It has been a long time since I actually dug an American car. I rented one of the newer Ford Focuses with the full on sporty and Sync packages, and it was downright decent. I could live with one. I rented another Focus a year ago. It was the stripped down model, and I hated it. Front end wandered, auto tranny decided to switch gears at odd times. I felt like I was fighting the car most of the time.

Believe me, I would rather support our own industries, but I'm not going to buy something I don't like as much just to do so.

Francis, I met Mike last w/e for the SS-Social and was admiring his Honda. I'll still take the Toyota though, did ya show the ladies how the back seats clear out/fold down and you can fit a futon back there?
