I know it is futile but whenever I receive an email like this, I forward it to [email protected]. In cases such as yahoo, aol and other major email companies, they usually take swift action to disable the account. It doesn't make much of a difference but it some action to try to foil the scammers.

You are so lucky! You'll never have to work again. All I ask, is that you be kind enough to buy me a new bike.

    Thanks,

I remember when the "Nigerian Letter" was all the rage (very similar scam). The CIA or NSA or some such group had a web page with instructions on where to forward the email.

Google Nigerian Letter and find out how you can get in contact with the CIA

Dude, you should totally screw with them. I read a Best of Craigslist posting of a whole email back-and-forth, where a guy pretended to go along with it, winning over their trust and then pretended to act like a third party, getting involved and trying to thwarte the whole thing. It worked and make the scammer paranoid and he eventually blew his own cover. It was so ingenious and funny that I hoped to get a scam email like that myself. They're so dumb, they would never see it coming...stick it to em.
