Nov 2-4, 2018 Weekend Ride and Trail Conditions Report

Time to fall back an hour on Saturday night/Sunday morning, as daylight savings time ends. I for one would like to end this practice, as it's too dark to ride at 5pm. I would actually prefer to fall forward another hour, and have double daylight savings time.

Temps are beautiful this weekend for all of NorCal.

    Photos and reports are appreciated.

Falling forward 2 hours would be interesting. 10:30 sunset in June, but you'd have like a 9AM sunrise in December. Wouldn't complain about being able to ride after work year round though.

RIP daylight. See you in the spring.

'merica's two biggest fails, changing the time and not adopting the metric system widely.

Well, getting up for work at sunrise (9am) and riding till 10:30pm wouldn't be such a bad life!

I'll be attending the Giro d'Vino in Lodi on Sunday. Wining and biking.

I'll also do some trail riding at Exchequer tomorrow.

After spending all week in Switzerland for work/conference with no chance to ride, I was psyched to get home and hit the trail. Fall is quite nice I will say though it was pretty windy Ďround these parts.

Had a great ride. Think the week of rest did my legs good!

Rode around Montebello today. Lot of work being done up there. Better get this one in before the gate closes for the season.

Mid race run at the Cal Poly collegiate super-d my bike had a mechanical. Not too sure what the cause was, but the pulley wheel broke off, chain dropped into wheel, and derailleur got pulled into spokes. (Looks worse in person. Almost all the spokes on the drive side are damaged beyond use). Time to learn how to build wheels I guess...

I donít mind sucking when I gave my best effort, but it really sucks to be taken out of a race when you feel like you are doing good, caused by a mechanical that I donít think is a fault of my own.

The DH strava segment at the top of the course. Tied with the winner Eric and EWS u21 pro racer Erik. Iím pretty sure everyone else on that list is from SLO.

Great weekend in Downieville. Trails are dry up top but in fantastic shape below the bridge. Rode Sunrise - Butcher - 3rd - 1st on Sat and rode Gold Valley - Pauley - Second - First. Must say, have always ridden 3rd because had heard 2nd is too pedaly but man 2nd is awesome, in great shape too because no one rides it!

Rode Dan's Wild Ride in Angwin for the first time. Super fun trail, a great addition to the trails around there. Great fall colors too.

Made it up to Ashland this weekend for the first time. Got some rain friday night and sunday morning. Time Warp was amazing! That trail alone was worth the drive up

Well hello fellow bay area gang! Nice pictures from the THC demo at Teresa. Looks like everyone had a blast. I was thinking about coming by, but having recently bought a bike from Lars and crew, I was like... uh, I don't need to demo any more bikes... Hahaha!

Stayed away from UC this weekend (for obvious reasons) and rode up from Epicenter to top of Ridge at the edge of Demo. That was a nice climb. Came down through Forest, just awesome conditions, but gotta say: IT IS TOO DRY/DUSTY!!!! We need some rain here in the bay area!!!!

That is all... Hope to see some of you folks out there one of these weekends. Enjoy your week!

^^ Hey, was that you we ran into up above Sand Point helping out that couple that missed Demo? I was surprised by what great (if dry) shape the first "forest" trail was, although it seemed like it had been sanitized a bit.
The broken are the more evolved. Rejoice.

I remember a couple and a LOT of other folks up at the point when I was there. Prob. just after 10AM is when I was up there. I was with my bud who rides a red HD4 and I was on my turquoise SB130. Shorter asian guy with the taller caucasian dude. Mmmmm.... bacon.....
