There might be some canals or short trails to explore, but I don't think there is much. I work in Newcastle so I will ask around.

    Hidden Falls

It's not bad for a few loops. A little on the short side, but still fun for being the closest thing to Newcastle. Best during the week, or you will run into horse and hiker traffic.

Go out Mt Vernon Rd, you will see the sign.

    I'm your neighbor in Ophir...

where exactly are you moving to in Newcastle...because depending on where..there are some things.

For what it is worth. I'm just down the road off of Wise after Bald Hill...it takes me 20 minutes to ride from my house to StageCoach trailhead....a little longer to Hidden Falls which is the other direction.

I also sometimes ride up to Hwy 80 and take the RR access roads/double track from newcastle to Auburn...30 minutes of dirt riding...it's fun for what it is.

But for road riding...our neighborhoods are in the middle of great road riding.
Happy new year..Stuff $: Eno 29wheel (non disc), Yakima, 2 steelheads, with towers for Volvo luggage rails.
