    New Years resolutions

So we all have them. Hopefully we can keep them. Here's mine...

    No beer during the week.
Eat a little better (but not too much)
Get back in the gym after a 6 week hiatus and maintain consistency
    More riding.

Simple enough. What do you guys have?

Iíve never made any resolutions. Instead, Iíve always just tried to be the best me I can be, all the time.

Ride in a race! SS MTB or CX. Do some bike camping. Ride from San Francisco to Sacramento. Meet some new folks to ride with. Film some cool stuff with my new helmet camera. Hit Downieville (if it's possible on a rigid SS)

I didn't make any resolutions this year. Apparently, I'm not the only one. Just got back from the gym and saw the same old faces. Usually the first week of the year at the gym is full of new people who made resolutions that aren't going to keep them.

Rode up on the shuttle this year with a guy on a rigid single speed. Passed him within the first mile as he was on the side of the trail fixing a flat. I'm sure it's doable just make sure to bring plenty of tubes.

I guess I could always just throw a fork on for the Downieville experience, or rent a FS bike like I did in Tahoe this fall. It just seem like Downieville is the nearest mountain bike "Mecca" and it's high-time I made a pilgrimage.

So you have the same personality as when you were 4? New Years resolutions are a point in western culture where it's acceptable to pause and reflect on ourselves and see where we feel we can polish.
Conscious discipline and daily practice can shape someone to be who they would like to be until they are that person.

    Really 4....wow

Didn't say not to reflect or improve oneself but I think its more 4 yo stuff to wait until new years to do it. I strive to improve daily, not always successful.

4 seemed like a good point in time, nice and early...completely out of thin air.

And it looks like some psychologists think that new years resolutions are useful, but not at actually changing behavior: Why We're Addicted to New Year's Hope...and How to Make the Most of It | Psychology Today

    So there you have it.

I will make a better effort to say stuff more smarter and am planning to take my obsession with Satan to the NEXT level. I already have the talon of a red crow, the seventh Orbis Chalice of Pius (below), sap from the stunted willow in West Chesterfield (yes, that was a *****) and we found the 'door' (it's really more like an outside basement door) this November. Soooo, excited!!!!
