    N95 and P100 masks

    Any thoughts and recommendations? https://www.google.com/amp/amp.kcra....masks/25107300

    Is a P100 much better?

    Riding or just being outside?

Change the filter inside the home furnace?

Either is ok for just being outside, but not for exerting yourself (riding for cardio exercise). Full double filtered respirator masks are the best, but they stifle breathing.

We run a box fan in the house fill time with furnace filters over the inlet and keep the house closed up tight all the time. Have changed out 2 filters that became dark brown in the last week. The second one took about twice as long to get visibly dirty, so they are cleaning the air. Also running a hepa filtration unit (Levoit).

Iím going stir crazy and itís taking everything I have not to just say F it and ride.

Regular masks don't do much of anything. They are more for big particles and leak way too much. The p100 with the outlet valve are much better than non valve ones.
If you want real protection you need a half mask like a 3m 6000,6500 or 7500. I did a 1 hour ride yesterday with one of these on. Felt like breathing normal air threw a large straw.
I recommend this one for extended use.

I don't see how people ride in full-on respirators. Have you ever tried running from the cops in one?

Not my best look, but the air I was breathing tasted clean and crisp.

    I'm working outdoors with this cheap 3M N95+valve mask;

Its amazing how well it seals around my beard. If I put it on before going outside, I don't smell smoke at all. The exhaust valve does a good job of reducing moisture behind mask.

It lets me get shit done ... until my eyes complain. Going to try a ride with it in the morning.

I don't think you're supposed to exert yourself with any of these masks. There's no way you're getting as much oxygen as without it.

P100 mask, ebike, Santa Teresa park... all legal, lots of rocks and breathing is configurable. I might go for that actually

P100 filters 99.97% of particulates and is oil proof
N95 filters 95% of particulates not oil proof

N95 filters are normally referencing disposable respirators. P100 is normally for reusable respirators cartridges.
