Mtbr at Kirkwood, 8 hour solo or 24 hour team

I have a condo and an 8 hour entry and a 24 hour team entry for the Kirkwood Festival. Date of the event is August 28, 9am.

Who wants to do this with me?? I'm interested in doing the solo 8 hour. We can either form a 24 hour team if there's enough interest or we can have a couple other 8 hour solo folks like me.

And since mtbr is a sponsor, the cost to you is free? Who can do this?

I'm thinking of going up there Friday and going home Sunday.

A little late notice Francis. Menso and I are doing Sunday's Lake Sonoma race already. I would have liked a trip up to Kirkwood with you. Good luck and enjoy the riding there.

Francois, I'm doing the 8hr and camping, but post race I will pay you for a shower (empty shower that is ).

I'm bringing my dogs, and Kirkwood is apparently too good for dogs.

I'll use one 8-hour entry. I have a 24 hour entry that can be used or converted into an 8 hour. Preferably a team can be formed to form a 24 hour mtbr team. But I know this is short notice.

If not, I'd say Bigfoot and I will sponsor you with one 8-hour entry. We don't want to take away money from Bigfoot entries either so we can't do multiple freee 8-hour entries.

The catch is we need to have a good time, take lots of pictures and tell everybody about this experience. Hopefully, it will be awesome.

I did that race on my FR bike back in 03...talk about pain. I was sleeping in the condo between shifts and woke up to go the bathroom...made it halfway then fell over with the worst leg cramps I've ever had in my life - couldn't stand up, couldn't do anything for about 10 minutes. Good times

    Kirkwood

Realistically we'll probably just car camp Fri, and leave Saturday p.m.. So if someone is staying the weekend and/or doing 24hr of course they are more worthy in my eyes! But i'm happy to spread the good word for MTBR.

It is unfortunate SoNoMas and Kirkwood are on the same weekend as I was able to do both last year. I'll be at Kirkwood as I need the 8hrs of saddle time but I certainly will miss SoNoMas.....great course and support.....and it should be a lot cooler this year

I assumed you read this thread already and ignored it due to your roadie persuasion.

Wow, to bad I just now saw this. My wife and I are both doing the ss solo and would have been stoked to get a comp admission. We both won the season passes last year and didn't use them at all. Kinda bummed but our local mountain (Squaw) was so good last winter. Looking forward to Saturday. See you al up there. Bring warm stuff and remember you will be at a very high elevation.

Yeah sorry, we'l have way better planning next year. We'll have beer drinking tryouts or something.

We need to support this event since Vic is really trying to build something great here.

Sept 18, I have to be local since Interbike is the next week.
