Good Morning Trail Crew Leaders!

Over the weekend 43 brave souls volunteered at our second Dig Day of the season on the Flow Trail in SDSF, despite 4 inches of rain. Scott Chapin, fellow MBOSC Trail Crew Leader, pointed out the positive at the beginning of the day, "The cool thing about when it rains is that you can see where the water is puddling up." Needless to say, it was so satisfying to open drains together and watch the puddles flow off the trail. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Don't worry if you missed it, we've got plenty of opportunities for you to help out coming up real soon, so keep reading below to see where you can get involved!

Help Us Finish West Engelsmans Reroute This Week
If you'd like to help finish the West Engelsmans Reroute, this is your last chance! Drop-in hours will continue until this Friday, January 11, and then the work will be done. The trail won't be open until this spring because it needs some time to settle during the rainy season, but we can't wait for the grand opening later this year.
Fridays at SDSF - Starting 1/18
Join Cob and our interns for trail work every Friday from 9:15-3:00pm in SDSF starting January 18! If you want to carpool, they will meet you at 8:30am at the Cal Fire station on Old San Jose Road, or you can drop-in where they are working during the day. Bring your bike if you wish and enjoy a ride down the hill after.

Students' Dig Day at DeLaveaga with Cycle Works - 1/21
Cycle Works has graduated 4 employees from Trail Crew Leader Training, showing their deep commitment for supporting MBOSC. We're excited for our next Dig Day with them on Monday, January 21, which is Martin Luther King Day. This will be a shorter Dig Day, from 9-1:00pm. Please sign up if you are able to help lead a crew.

MBOSC Hired TWO Trail Interns, and an Advocacy & Outreach Intern!
Our Trail Crew is looking pretty robust these days, with Drew, Cob, Bruce, and now Liam and Peter. Liam and Peter are our new Trail Interns and both come from a lengthy backgrounds in trail construction. They're not the only new additions to our trail-building efforts, though! Kristen, our Advocacy & Outreach Intern, will be joining the rest of the Dig Days this season and will help plan our volunteer campout at Camp Loma.

Save The Date - Volunteer Campout June 1-3
We're in the planning stages of creating one heckuva weekend at Camp Loma June 1-3 to celebrate all of our volunteers, including you! This will be our biggest and most exciting volunteer appreciation event yet, so save the date

That's it and that's all! I hope to see you all soon!

With Gratitude,
