Lower Xmas at P-Ridge Being Removed

Heads up to all of you that ride Pleasanton Ridge, Lower Christmas is being obliterated. Yesterday I went down and noticed the trail was being removed. Dry grass was covering the trail so it wasn't visible, logs were randomly placed on and around the path, and side hill sections had the bench cut dug out. Near the bottom of the trail I ran into the crew doing the work.

Just be careful as the dry grass is slippery and hides ruts that could catch you by surprise.

That section has been a no go for a long time now. The majority of tickets I know of were at the bottom of that.

This has been in process for a bit--I have not confirmed but heard from a good source that they have installed more cameras in that area to up enforcement-not sure how they use these but this what I heard---I do not ride the ridge any longer on weekends as the number of hikers has really increased---many with loose dogs----hoping we do not have more restrictions over time

Xmas was such a good ride, depressing that it was shut down. Add this to the long list of great trails shut down by the ridiculous local government. From the East Bay my options for legit riding is down to Downieville (3 hours) and Demo Forest (1 hour). So ridiculous given all of the steep hills so close to where I live.

Dude that totally sucks. That section was fun as heck at the end of my usual loops when I used to ride there, even though it was so short. I hope the cows tromp and trondle (are those real words???) a new DH trail soon.

Of course, it's fun, so of course it's illegal. I loved that trail when I lived in Hayward. The only thing worth riding for miles around.

The fun trail at the end of the ride that ends at the bottom of the park.
