pain....did a grueling exploration ride up at Loch Leven with Matty....found a way to make a good loop and also found where not to go.

Rode (or carried our bikes..pushed and portaged) up Loch Leven trail...scoping the lines for the return trip down. The fire service trail crew called us lunatics as they were coming down...no offense taken...they could be right. After having fun riding granite slabs at Loch Leven...we headed down Cherry Pt. trail. Talk about Technical....Damn. Then we made the mistake of riding down the seldom if ever used Big Granite trail that just becam unridable after a mile or two of straight down. We ended up pushing back up the trail after filtering water at little granite creek. From here we went left on to Big Valley? trail then back up to the ridge....from the top we linked to loch leven from Salmon Lake trail....

So, if you want to do a loop up there...albeit a nasty gnarly ultra technical (don't be fooled by the short milage...I mean it! don't be fooled!!) masochistic loop....jsut skip the Big Granite trail thing and go....

Loch Leven trail....past the lakes to Cherry Pt. trail then go down the fire access that turns into Big Valley trail....stay right and go up to the top of the ridge....then right on Salmon Lakes trail that goes back to Loch Leven....then down, down down.
