    Lake Berryessa Trails status?

I remember seeing some conversations about trails that were built on the north end of Berryessa and talks also about extending further around the lake. Just wondering if anybody has ridden the existing trail lately, or if anyone knows anything about the future trails being built? Would love to be able to cruise out there in the AM and go for a ride on a hot day, then dip into the lake afterwords.

    Thanks!!

The North end trail is great but is a bit short at about 8 miles round trip. Reclamation plans to extend the trail around the north end of the lake but is faced with a very bad creek entry just beyond the north end. I walked it once and came within an ace of sliding 20' down into the creek. Where the trail follows the shore on several points, there are cut off trails that cut across the points. I loop all of these to add a bit more distance.

Don't ride it right now. A bit of the trail is genuine glue mud and you will not like the ride at all. Wait for dry and go for an unseasonably cool day.

This trail is beautiful with a number of stone bridges. It is the Forest Trails Alliance making trails as art again. It's also a pretty easy trail and would be good for beginning riders.

Right on, thanks for the update! I live in Woodland, so just trying to find some good stuff to ride close. Amazing there aren't any trails near Winters. Sounds like there was some non-sense on from Napa regarding payment or something, but I don't bike to think about politics

I also live just outside of Woodland. You should think about riding the Cache Creek Recreational lands up past the casino. There are lots of miles of riding, mostly double track, dirt roads, single track on old roads, and, north of highway 20, hunter trails and real adventure riding.

Give me a message and we can get in touch. I know all of the riding in the highway 16 highway 20 BLM lands and, importantly, when to ride it.
