    Kitty Cat sighting by ART

I was finishing my ride last night behind White Pines Lake in Arnold. I was on the road which leads up to the OHV and old section of the Arnold Rim Trail. I heard a noise while on the road above the creek looked up thought it was a huge Golden Retriever. Looked closer because it was dusk and realized it was a mountain lion. At the same time I must have spooked the deer it was stalking. All of sudden the chase was on, down the creek, up the side of the hill across the paved road and up the ridge towards the ohv trail. I have no idea where he came from. He was stealth. If he got the deer he and the carcass are in the area. I know the mountain lions are around but this is only the 2nd one I actually have seen and he was no more than 30 yards from me. Claws were big and I estimate at 150 pounds. He was so fast. DW

Lucky you. Still on my bucket list to see the south end of a north bound mountain kitty.
    .

I may not have the best of everything, but I have the best everything that matters.

It's always been a little creepy running into large wildlife out on the trails, sometimes miles from civilization.....I've come across several black bears, but only one mountain lion in the 20 years I've been out on the trails. Luckily there was a couple groups of hikers coming down the mountain when that kitty was checking me out-

I would bet more than one has seen you. Luckily for most of us the tend to steer clear of people.

I was approaching a stream and saw a cat drinking out of the stream. It ran off out of sight. I crossed the stream and road up the bank and stopped at the top. I looked around for five minutes before I looked down. There was a bobcat crouching behind a bit of grass about five feet from me. He sat up and looked at me a minute before he ran off.
