Your warning came too late. Went for a mission peak ride at 6 already.

To the guy that was chasing me up, you are nuts. I don't think I had to ride this hard this early in the morning

Since I'm home in TX right now, I went for a ride a little after 4 my time, just in time before it started to get dark. Got to do a couple little short downhill sections that I found at a park.

I'm trying awfully hard NOT to ride today. It is supposed to be a rest day. I don't think I can make it without some help. Quick, somebody pass me a Pliny!

(Maybe I'll just sneak out for a little quickie)

Granite Bay to New York Slough and back on the Ti Jones. Not too sure how far. I accidentally reset the odometer. Oldish picture. There is now a BFL up front.

Normally I would have been snowboarding but today I did a short (but good) ride at Skeggs. I don't think I have ever ridden there in January before. Conditions are so dry it's almost worrisome...

It kills me to not be remotely close to skiing this time of year, but the riding today was excellent. Can't believe I'm seeing dust on Jan. 1!

A little Sweetwater, SFART, & Salmon Falls fun ride:

    Surrounded by horses!

(probably saw about 15 horses, 40 hikers, 30 kayaker/rafters, and 50 mtb'ers throughout the day... busy day on the trails!)

No snow in them thar hills

Thanks for the motivation...was going to rest today, but I never ride solo it seems, so today was a great day for a short solo challenge up Burdell and around rush creek. I rode really hard, but not all in, and picked up several koms and top 5's

What do you expect for $80?

Nah, it's an illusion... the thing's straight. I think I would actually like a setback post... I ended up swapping the 50mm stem to a 90mm one. Feels better so far.

Didn't plan on riding on the Jan 1, but happened to pass through Aptos and saw the pump track. Me and the girl went back and got our bikes and rode it for 2 hours while the wife went for a hike with the boy. I was the only adult riding with about a dozen kids ;-) First time on a pump track, good start to 2012!

Empty Beer, I realize the old Salmon Falls Bridge is now dry (mostly). Is that how your GPS track shows you crossing the lake? Or did you just ride really fast and hydroplane? Looks like an interest route - I might follow suit.

Tank Girl I saw you out there. I was hiking with my wife and you were headed downhill in the opposite direction or I would have said hello. Recognized you from posts here. You were descending Muir on the fire road from the Coyote Ridge Summit before right before Muir turns to single track.

We did an awesome 9 mile hike from the freeway to a friends house way up Tam. Beautiful day.

I built a big Evil Kenivel style kicker and jumped the sucker Actually, I came back on SF, crossed the bridge and cruised the lake basin... cause my legs couldn't take anymore climbing to get back on road or Sweetwater to Falcon Crest! Have fun ~

I've gone for a few road rides. Going backpacking in Yosemite this weekend. I'll have to wait for the following Saturday for a mountain bike ride at Demo. Then I'm off to Costa Rica for a week.
