    Fire Victim Bike Rebuild Help

    No, not me this time...

Hey, a LOT of you guys helped me get back on a bike when I lost my fleet (including beloved Retrotec) to a house fire. I will never forget that generosity.

A fire destroyed a friend's house here in Napa over the weekend. Of the many things lost in the fire was Theo's bike. Theo is 15 (the bike was his transportation, entertainment and freedom.) We had just tuned up that old (steel) Gary Fisher for him and he rode it everywhere. I have a lot of the parts that mtbr friends donated to me... including the frame. I am looking for a couple more things to put this bike back together and give it to Theo.

I need a 27.2 post, front der (34.9, top pull, top swing) but most importantly, I need a fork. Could be rigid, suspended, cheap, nice, broken (so long as I can fix it.) The front wheel I have is 9mm QR, so that and disc compatible is what I'm looking for. Let me know what you got.

I have an older Judy Hydracoil, that's in good shape. 1-1/8 in steerer, threadless. It's got disk mounts. I'm in Santa Rosa.

I have an old dart, it is not great at all, it leaks and isn't the best even when it doesn't. Let me know if you want it.

The fork needs to be for 29" wheel. I know I'm asking for a lot, but that's the frame I have to work with.

I have a never used V-brake Tange rigid fork (26r), I think I still have a Surly fork for 700c, ridiculous amount of tires of various vintage (mostly 26, but some cyclocross), heavy ass Spinner 150mm fork (which may need an overhaul), few spare wheels and a whole pile of other stuff in my garage that I can let go. Drop me a line and drop by if you want to.

you guys are awesome! Let me gather up what I have and what I know is coming and I'll make a complete list of what I need (I think only the fork really.)

Nice! I think I have a derailleur coming. I'm still rockin' that Vanilla you gave me when my bikes burned up.
