Did my daily lunch ride and was, like, "Who's BBQ'ing?" when I reached the top of climbing Stiles.
Then I saw the smoke was all around me. Then I saw the three planes hovering. Then I heard the sirens. Then I realized, "Oh sh*t, my trails are on fire."
The fire was on the stable side of Bernal, so it was no where near Rocky Ridge. But given the weather and slight wind we had yesterday, STP was a perfect candidate for going up in flames. I don't believe anybody got hurt (usually I'm the only one on the trails at lunch), but I feel kinda bad for all my animal friends. I've heard fire fighters talk about rabbits on fire running away as they're burning, further spreading the fire.![]()

They took care of it pretty fast, though.

Somebody was having helmet problems
Obligatory bike-at-top-of-climb pic. The rigid 29'er goes suprisingly quick up the rocky stuff.
