Rescheduled: El Dorado Trail Workday Sunday, 12/2/18

This work day has been rescheduled for Sunday the 2nd!

After seven years of advocacy and a CEQA study, we now have permits from several government agencies to legally work on the El Dorado Trail. So we better do some work.

We will be building a section of bench cut trail off to the side of the railroad tracks through a grove of trees where there currently is no trail and we have been forced to ride along the shoulder of track.
Bring snacks and water, and wear study shoes and pants. Lunch will be provided for volunteers.

The location is about a three quarters of a mile walk from Latrobe Road. Take Highway 50 To Latrobe Rd., and go south 5 miles on Latrobe Rd. Just after crossing the bridge over Deer Creek, youíll pass Cothrin Ranch Road on the left, then on the right will be a gravel pull out with a railroad track running parallel to the road below an embankment. We will park there and walk to the worksite.

Please RSVP here or on our Meetup or Facebook page to ensure you're counted for lunch!

    Not if they're gingers

    Jokes aside, of course.

The worksite is about .70 miles from the parking area, and there is a sketchy, sketchy rail bridge you'll have to cross, so just be advised. (the bridge has large gaps between the ties, you wouldnt want little ones crossing it unsupervised...)

Sunday should be a great day for trail work. Sunny skys and plenty of moisture in the dirt. Itís nearly ideal.
