CHILE - mtb tour company recommendation?

Hi, I know this is hardly Nor Cal (although Chile is similar to California!) but you guys go everywhere so thought I'd have more success than the not very active "Other Areas" forum.

Have you ridden in Chile? What'd you think? Where'd you go? Can you recommend a good mtb tour company there? Thanks a bunch for any information!!

Check out Sacred Rides. They do lots of international guided rides. I haven't ridden with them, but have heard good things from people who have.

They have a cool MTB + Surfing trip in Chile

    Consider these guys:

Worldwide Mountain Bike Tours, Holidays & Bike Camps - Ridebig.com

I have done Mexico and Morocco with them. Good times.

I've spent quite a bit of time in Chile in the last few years. I don't know anything about tours though, I'm more of the find-it-myself-and-go mentality.

If you speak/understand Spanish check out the Bikemontt forums, it is basically the MTBR of Chile. Bikemontt Ciclismo al Sur del Mundo

Here are some good riding areas I have found.

    In Santiago:
Las Varas- Mountain Bike Ride Profile | Las Varas near Santiago | Times and Records | Strava

    Near Santiago:
La Campana National Park - Mountain Bike Ride Profile | Parque Nacional La Campana near Hijuelas | Times and Records | Strava

    Viņa del Mar/Valparaiso:
Mountain Bike Ride Profile | Reņaca - Retiro near Viņa Del Mar | Times and Records | Strava

    Temuco:
Mountain Bike Ride Profile | Cerro Mariposa near Temuco | Times and Records | Strava

    Paso Mamuil Malal near Pucon:
Mountain Bike Ride Profile | Mamuil Malal Exploration near Curarrehue | Times and Records | Strava

Chile is beautiful, safe, and a lot of fun to travel through and get to know. The mountain biking is not as good as the best stuff in California/Colorado/Utah, but pretty nice nonetheless. Since Chile's summer is during our winter, you won't be missing much if you head down. Chile's Spanish is the craziest accent I've encountered; they mumble at high speed with lots of slang.

Wow. Thanks for taking the time to share all of this. Will check it all out.

So far, still haven't found the kind of tour we're looking for: point to point. All the mtb/off-road tours I've found follow this pattern: get in the van to go to the ride. At the end of the ride, get in the van to go back to the hotel.

We want to get on our bikes and not see a car until the end of our tour. Wish us luck!
