    Carbon flatbar?

Do you think a 28" (711MM) flatbar could be "too wide" for local XC races? Like, for squeezing in between trees at Tamarancho or at Downieville?
I normally use a 26" wide titanium flatbar, but the bike I bought has a lo' riser bar and I'd like to lower it another inch, for climbing. I'm 5'10" on a Medium TRc.

Assuming 28" is 711 mm, that's the bar I use, with no problems fitting between trees at Tamarancho.

I've run 750's at Tamo and 780's at D'ville without incident.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice--pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

Good to know, thanks. back in the last Century, my butted steel HTs had 22" to 23" (584MM) flat bars.

I ride 785 and I have only gotten stuck a handful of times in the past 3 years. Though I got to say those handful of times lead to a pretty spectacular crash with the exception to one where the bike just got wedged and stuck.

    Carbon flatbar?

I rock DH bars at Tamarancho, 780mm boo bars. No problems. Riding at D-ville, same bar no problems. I have gotten stuck a few times on "off map" trails with poor construction standards
