    Buying new bike in Oregon?

Would you buy a new bike outside of CA to avoid 400 bucks in taxes?I do all my own wrenching so a free tune up package isn't interesting.

I guess it depends on how far you are from the border. If it costs your $30 in gas to drive to an OR shop, why not?

I'd do it just to ride the trails up there. I saw a very good deal on a Turner Sultan with no sales tax when I was up there last month. If I even kind of needed a new bike, it would have been very hard to pass up.

Oh yea, what they said. I lived up there 15yrs, got buddies to make it a visit etc, if it was a big enough chunk of $ def worth it

Same goes for buying online(tax free), although you are suppose to pay use tax from oregon or from online.

Pay or not, thats your decision

After reading how touchy bike shops are about us trying to get a better deal than MSRP.It makes sense to ride some new trails in Oregon and save some $$$
