    Best Trails for Dry Conditions

What trails in NorCal handle the dry weather better than others? What trails would you rather save for Spring or early Summer?

    Some recent discoveries:
Sierra Canyon trail: wasn't too dusty and seemed just fine to me in the dry.
Tahoe-Donner trails: front wheel eating moondust pits camouflaging jagged rocks all over the place. I got filthy even on a solo ride.
Bowman Lake/Grouse Ridge area: Lots of rocks on the trail, so I don't see it making a huge difference between moist conditions and dry conditions.

I don't care as much about trail conditions in the summer as I do about weather. For example it could be 95 degrees at Henry Coe with zero shade and 65 degrees in Santa Cruz on the same day. Easy decision.

The thing I hate the most is blue groove/hard pack dirt with loose gravel/dirt on top of it. Softer the dirt the better, both in the summer and winter.

Is it just me or do trails that don't get much use do pretty well despite dry conditions? Only speaking from what I see in the East Bay.

    Recent discoveries:

Sutro in SF: foggy conditions in the summer make for surprisingly moist trails
JMP in Oakland: mostly shaded trails and occasionally subjected to fog
South Lake Tahoe: trails are so rocky that even when they're blown, they're still pretty damn good
