I just went to the LBS, and they can order copies from Yakima from your key #. Don't know about local key shops.

At the locksmith near my house. Glenview Lock and Key on Park Blvd in Oakland. They have Yakima as well, I'm pretty sure.

Not that you're gonna drive down from SR to do it, but some local locksmiths stock the stuff.

Have you tried Home Depot, OSH, or Lowe's? If all else fails, you can call Yakima directly, give them your key number (engraved on the key), and have them mail it to you. I've called them directly to purchase some replacement rack parts. Got here within a week or so. Good luck.

I ordered new Thule keys from the number also. I just went to their website. Yakima may have a similar option on their site.

FYI.....the Yakima Key blank is an ILCO X132, i think it's a key for an old VW.

I haven't but I was able to find another set of locks with keys (needed them anyways) with the same key# after sifting through all the boxes at REI.

I've called a couple of REI's to see if they have the matching lock cores and a couple of them say they're just random and you can't match them. I wished Yakima did a better job of labeling the boxes with the key code, since a bunch that i've checked either have the control key visible or the key is flipped so you can't see the #

sounds like a packing issue. Pretty sure the keys packages are intended to let you see the #s. at least when I got mine, they were all visible. sorry to hear that. But the REI employee that said they were random were wrong.

This might not be helpful but about 5 yrs ago i dropped yakima keys into the snow and lost them up in Tahoe. Locksmith came out and not only had the blanks, but was able to cut new keys by hand, with a file, from scratch (didn't even need the originals). The place was out of Truckee, I think.
