Anybody got a Genius Idea for 4th of July?

My favorite holiday of the year. We usually have so many great choices.
Fireworks above the fog at Marina. Folsom Rodeo. Tahoe drunkfest.

This year, a year that we all need a little bit of celebration, seems that we have been jammed up.

So has anyone discovered a great place to go party, see some fireworks, and ride MTBs?

I plan to be somewhere on the water (probably kayaking and/or fishing), far away from crazy ass people.

Heading to Salmon Creek Campground near the start of the Downieville Downhill and doing some self shuttle runs with the family! Not much for fireworks there, but may head to Graeagle.

Living here in Oakland, the best firework show is right here in town.

It's been insane for the past couple of weeks.

We're usually out of town for the 4th. But a year or two ago we stayed home. Once you find a good vista in the hills you'll see a better firework show than any produced event.

Go party with a small group and stay away from crowds.

    Shelter in loam.

Hit the redwoods for a ride, then hunker down at home. The pets get traumatized by the fireworks in San Jose.
