    2019 Superbowl Ride

    Feb 3. So it's in 2 weeks
    Time: 9am meet time
    Loops: whatever you prefer
    Post ride: a lot

Let's go for plan A, Demo Forest.

    if deluge:
Plan B will be Stevens Creek County Park - Montebello Road, Canyon trail
Plan C (hella mud) - Mt. Hamilton road ride

For the uninitiated, this ride is the annual where we ride Superbowl morning at around 9am. Get a good burn and then feast. Then we go home to our respective Superbowl events... or sleep.

You'll be home to see the game.

(edited thread to set the venue)

2012 - It was a road ride due to rain. Let's avoid that.

If I tow it down, no riding. My plan is to cook on it overnight, ride while the meat rests, and eat there.

We should install Method Racing wheels and KO2's for the Rubicon Trail trip.

Demo was perfect last year, conditions were prime. I will be on the road this year or else I'd be looking into setting up a breakfast griddle for the early crew.

Except for the location and time. And most importantly, what are we eating and drinking. Day is settled.

Forecast is looking good, so if this is a go, time to start planning.

The forecast is making it look very likely that we will be riding Montebello/Stevens Canyon.
    I'm the problem....

Given this forecast, it may be best to do Montebello, Stevens Canyon.

Great picnic area and no permits/hassles ever. Everyone ok with that? 9am meeting time?

Anybody attending aside from the 10-year regulars Dan/Kyle/Steve/Rox?

Anyone new? Chime in now so we can keep you updated.

It would be fun, wish I could attend. Just a bit too far for an over nighter. Last time it was a 2 night stay which was great.

Were any of the folks here riding Demo July 7th 2018? There was a huge group turnout that day?
I rode there Saturday and Sunday.

    Last time we did Steven's Creek, 5 people RSVP'd and 50 showed. It's a 10 to 1 ratio.

Stevens Canyon holds up fine, but riding in the rain is less fun and partying in the rain is even less desirable.

there will probably be breaks in the rain. Not sure if they'll be long enough though.

NOAA is saying 50% chance of rain. Should definitely be able to get out sometime on Sun. Hard to plan a big ride and party around unless that probability drops a bit.

Let's cancel the ride. Forecast looks terrible. And the trails will be crappy at best.

If there's a window Sunday morning, some might go out and back down on Montebello Road to the peak.

But as far as a big get-together, let's call this one off.

Given the uncertainty of weather forecasts, and how far we had call this one, it's obvious now we made the right call.
