How fast do you DH and how high do you jump?
Faster is not always better, but it's always more fun

I have an ht, great bike you can't go wrong. I'd lean ht vs htlt because you can run plus wheels or 29er. I have both and swap, it's like having 2 bikes in one.

Lifetime warranty on frame as well.

I doubt I would bottom out the 135mm. I would use this as my everyday MidPen and SC trail bike.

I test rode a HT at UCSC. It's a terrific bike (as a matter of fact, it's on my very short list to replace my existing steed), and I never felt like the bike was the limiting factor. The LT is probably awesome on the DH, but probably weighs a couple extra lbs, and I would find it hard to justify based on my limited skills/abilities.

You can ride a lot of things on a slack 135mm trail bike. I'd do that since it'll be lighter and climb a bit better too. Unless you ride your bikes hard as shit.

2018 Santa Cruz Hightower or Hightower LT

If you're not in a hurry, Hightower LT is best. The Hightower LT in trail mode is like the normal Hightower in Open mode.

In descend mode, it is a more capable machine that will not ramp up or bottom out easily.

The waiting list though is very long.

Should check out the Santa Cruz forum since this topic is discussed in detail... daily.
