I really like to take pictures. Here are a few of my favorites from the last year. All were taken with my iphone X.

Well fudge. The bar has been set high.

Really, really cool. I like the fact that I have iphone and real camera inter-mixed in my google photos and there's no way to tell which is which now for me set.

The best rides I had this year were with my 13yo son. He's had a mountain bike for awhile but was too busy with friends riding trick scooters, BMX and skateparks. This year the mountain bike bug bit. Now he wants to go whenever he can.

A few weeks ago he randomly told me; "Hey dad, thanks for getting me into mountain biking. I really like it". #proud papa

Now he's already a better rider than me.

13 years old!!! The golden age. They'll start to make their own choices so we can only hope to choose to ride.

One piece of advice that can come in handy is get his peers to ride. If he has friends that love to ride, they will ride more with you.

I got a lot of riding in this year, but there were a few locations that just felt magical!

Early morning, looking down from the Ghost Hut, Old Ghost road, New Zealand. You can see the trail switchbacks off in the distance.

A ridiculously pretty lake on the border of Slovenia and Italy:

Dardanelles Lake, just before descending Christmas Valley in South Lake Tahoe. I thought Christmas Valley was even more amazing, but I was having too much fun to stop for pictures.

Something closer to home. Just happened to be amazing lighting. Can you guess where?

I’ve had a pretty amazing year from a riding perspective. Many standouts including MTBing in Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Colombia, and across Africa (S.Africa, Kenya, and Uganda for riding - 11 counties visited in total). Not too mention tons of new places locally including building my own trail.

The picture to me that best represents my 2018 was during my lunch break while biking Zermatt. This image and moment is forever burned in my mind and is a happy place I can recall when shit gets tough:

    Here’s to a fantastic 2019!
2018 Trek Farley Ex 8 - One bike to rule them all!
2015 Salsa Bucksaw 2 - Also pretty frickin’ sweet!

    2018 ride report and photos

Damn! Y’all went to some amazing places and took some amazing pics.

My most memorable rides of 2018 were Tahoe and Pinecrest, both were first times for me.

The highest level of stoke was consistently found in Santa Cruz.

Memorable, but unpleasant rides were the Dogmeat no-dab, and the time I threw out my back at Cunningham (and officially became an old man).

Best biking weekend of the year for me was easily the Humboldt Enduro. Awesome experience and a great race. Oh, and the trails didn’t suck either.

I'd love to contribute to this thread but I don't feel like re-sizing the shareable photos I've taken in 2018 so that they meet the MTBR uploading limitations. #toomanyrejections #toomanysteps #toosmallcomparedtoscreensize

    Happy New Year everyone!

2018 was pretty epic for riding. Lots of lakes, volcanoes, dusty forest roads and shred happened.
