Old Hayes Need replacin', Which new disks and why

I have older Hayes disks, the ones when there were just one model of hayes. I am not terribly happy with them so I am replacing them. The pads drag, power is so so ( I want POWER) So whats out there now. I have been readin up, but I want to know what you guys have been experiencing. The good, the bad, the ugly. thanks

After looking around, I'm going to go with Avid BB7's. The 08 models are on sale at Cambriabike.com for $49.95 right now. For that price, and the reviews I've read, you cant go wrong.

My ride has Tektro IO's on it now, which suck compared to the wifes with Hayes Mx4's on it, I expect the Avids to be even better than hers by a long shot after all the reviews.
Metal has two purposes in this world:
    1. To be played loud.
    2. To be bent to my will.

i've got bb7's from 06 and they do a great job.

i've also got hayes hfx 9 hd and the xc carbons. they do a great job also.

your preference since there are so many new stuff coming out it's almost hard to make a decision.

i'd even look into the new shimano xt's.
I just like riding my mountain bike.
