    New/Old style Avid Mechanicals

I'm looking to upgrade to Avid mechanicals, and have the option of the original, or newer style calipers. Does anyone have experience with the older style calipers? I will be using them for XC riding on a Giant Warp. Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

Pic (I hope it made it) is below, and the older style is on the left.

Basicly the same performance but if you buy new you'll most likely get the good B4 pads,

I want the "old" style if you do not get them.

Are they that much more desireable?

I prefer the magnet pad retainers of the old style rather than the spring clips. Not everyone agrees. They both work well.
