    Mechanical Disk Brakes

I'm upgrading an XC bike and want to add disk brakes.
Don't think I need hydraulics for my rides, and I don't want to mess with hydraulics.
What are the best mechanical disk brakes.
I have BB7's on another bike, and they work fine.
But what are the BEST ones out there?
    Many thanks,
    Brook

Avid make the best mechanical disc brakes. Hayes mech. aren't so hot from my experiences. Shimano's mech. are so so. And there are plenty of garbage low end disc brakes out there, so just get a set of Avid.

I run Avid mech disc on my XC be I don't feel hyrdo's are necessary for XC riding. Hydros can be a pain when they aren't working properly.

BB7s are the only choice. Combine those with good housing and they are amazing
